Classical Stociias’i’ic Diffusion Theory for Desori’tion from Solid Surfaces

چکیده
We present a theory of desorption of atoms and molecules from solid surfaces based on a chtssical stochastic diffusion formulation. We obtain a simple rate expression which has the form R = (D,/2n) j(T) exp( D,/k,), where T is the temperature, k is Boltxmann’s constant, 0, is the bond enthalpy, and sd, is the surface-adsorbate vibrational frequency. For atoms j(T) = 1, while for molecules j(T) depends on the parameters for the frustrated rotations at the surface. Application of this theory is reported for the desorption of atoms and molecules. We find that molecules lead to a greatly increased (factor of 100) Arrhenius pr~xponential factor in excellent agreement with experiment.

A Trigonometric Shear Deformation Theory (TSDT) for the analysis of isotropic plate, taking into account transverse shear deformation effect as well as transverse normal strain effect, is presented. The theory presented herein is built upon the classical plate theory. In this displacement-based, trigonometric shear deformation theory, the in-plane displacement field uses sinusoidal function in ...

The present investigation deals with the reflection and transmission phenomenon due to incident plane longitudinal wave at a plane interface between inviscid fluid half-space and a thermoelastic diffusion solid half-space with dual-phase-lag heat transfer (DPLT) and dual-phase-lag diffusion (DPLD) models. The theory of thermoelasticity with dual-phase-lag heat transfer developed by Roychoudhar...

متن کاملNon-Dissociative Gas Adsorption with Different Chemisorption Geometries on Nanoporous Surfaces
Isotherm equation is one of the important scientific bases for adsorbent selection. There are different isotherms that do not account for an adsorbate, different chemisorption geometries on the nanoporous surface. It is interesting to introduce a general isotherm, which considers different chemisorption geometries of an adsorbate on nanoporous surfaces. In this study, an isotherm for non-dissoci...
